Scooter Stories

Scooters are not as big as motorbikes in Malaysia but there are also quite a number of them here. I grew up with bikes and scooters as not much people knows. I was a bicycle fan when I was young and I used to get onto scooters to travel around by my uncles. There are few stories about scooters that I would love to share based on my experience.
First, this is about a scooter that my friend Eddie used to ride. He used to ride a scooter around 8 years ago when he overturned his car and got himself into huge troubles financially. There was one time, 2 of us wanted to play bowling together so he will come to pick me up with his scooter. Knowing me, I'm not a light person either is he. So that we traveled together in a scooter, it was quite cute I must admit as there are people who were looking at us at that time. There was a moment when we reach a road bump and something funny happened. The scooter couldn't get through. The reason as I said, both of us were heavy and he was carrying 2 bowling balls that weigh around 30 pounds. So what I did, is we stepped down of the scooter and the cars lined up behind us has to wait for us to push the scooter over the bump. I was basically standing and putting my hands up, signaling the cars to wait for Eddie to push his scooter over. After that, we couldn't stop ourselves laughing!
Second story, I was sent to Taiwan in 1998 for a job assignment. For that was the first and the last time I went to Taiwan, I was curious and yet adventurous. Like any traveler I would observe and see the difference of Taipei and here. First thing I noticed was the girls there loved to ride on motor scooter! I do really mean there was quite a number of them. They would ride in skirts, yes skirts and cute little helmets with different colors and designs. Together with the scooter, they look like scooter models! Because of the convenience and the low fuel consumptions of the scooter girls there favors scooter. For that trip, I will always remember Taiwanese girls as cute little scooter riders!
Lastly the scooter story I would have is the old scooter I have in my work studio. It was old but it was like an antique to us. We used to play around with it when we worked in our studio as now we moved to new rooms, the scooter is still stationed in the studio.
